Flowers for the day. Possibilities beyond it.

I’m Kim, the person behind Bloom & Stem in Saskatoon.

The idea started while I was planning my own winter wedding. I knew the feeling I wanted our flowers to create, but I was also thinking about cost, the cold, and how much of the preparation would need to happen close to the day.

I began exploring faux florals because they opened up a different way to plan. I could work on arrangements ahead of time, think through the design without a fresh-flower deadline, and imagine how the pieces could be enjoyed afterward.

More than one way to make it yours

As Bloom & Stem took shape, I kept coming back to the fact that not everyone wants the same experience with their wedding flowers.

You might want a few statement pieces that arrive ready to place. You might have a particular vision and want someone to create it for you. Or you might love the idea of making your flowers with friends, but not know where to start with the design or supplies.

That’s why Bloom & Stem has three paths: statement rentals, custom floral design, and DIY floral packages. Each offers a different level of involvement, with the design considered from the beginning.

The part I want you to enjoy

For me, the DIY option is about more than putting stems together. It’s an afternoon around a table with your favourite people, having a conversation while something for your wedding takes shape in your hands.

I want to make room for that experience by helping with the part that can feel overwhelming: planning the design, choosing the stems, and working out what each arrangement needs.

And for those who would rather leave the arranging to someone else, the rental and custom options offer their own kind of ease.

A beginning you’re invited into

Right now, I’m designing and photographing the first Bloom & Stem pieces. I’m looking forward to sharing the collection—and helping you find the approach that feels right for your celebration.
